Anglicare Housing Connect

Housing Connect is Tasmania’s entry point for Housing Assistance.

They are here every Wednesday and appointments made through the house.

It is where you can get information about your housing options and other supports.

Housing Connect can help you:

To apply for social housing or update your application if your circumstances have changed.
to apply for private rental assistance such as bonds and rent arrears
To find a bed for the night, including referral to crisis accommodation.
To access supports following family violence including rapid housing.
With support and advice on how to keep your tenancy.
With referrals to other support services.

Loretto Affordable Housing

Affordable Housing is for people on low to moderate incomes where rent is calculated as a percentage of market rental value (although rent is often capped using an affordability measure to avoid rental stress).

Unlike Social Housing, they maintain their own waitlist of people who are looking for Affordable Housing. This means people can apply directly and they do not have to be on the Housing Register – you can contact Loretto’s office on 03 6173 0060 or to apply visit here

It is important to understand that we have limited Affordable Housing properties. This means we do not have regular vacancies and wait times can be very long, often many years. There is no guarantee that a suitable property will become available.
