About Us
For more than 40 years, the George Town Neighbourhood House has been at the heart of our community, providing support, connection, and opportunities for people of all ages.
What began as a place for community members to come together has evolved alongside the changing needs of our community. Today, we are a vibrant community hub offering practical support, social connection, learning opportunities, youth programs, volunteering opportunities, and access to essential services.
We believe that everyone deserves to feel connected, supported, and valued. Whether someone is seeking assistance during a difficult time, looking to learn a new skill, wanting to meet new people, or hoping to give back through volunteering, our doors are open.
Each week, hundreds of people access our programs, services, events, and supports. From food assistance and housing support to youth activities, community events, wellbeing programs, and volunteer opportunities, we work to strengthen community resilience and improve quality of life across the George Town municipality.
Our success is built on strong partnerships with local organisations, dedicated volunteers, community groups, and the people who walk through our doors every day. Together, we create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment where everyone belongs.

About Neighbourhood Houses
Neighbourhood Houses are special because they are run to help the local community.
Neighbourhood Houses have special atmosphere. They are places of welcome, where anyone can come to make new friends, participate in community life and share learnings.
Neighbourhood Houses differ from one another; however they all encourage personal growth, self help and knowledge sharing. They work together in informal and formal partnerships with other community organisations, enriching the quality of life for community members.
