At the George Town Neighbourhood House, we understand that times can be tough. Our food support programs are here to help individuals and families access affordable food, reduce financial stress and stay connected to their community.
🥣 Continental Breakfast
Available daily during opening hours.
Help yourself to a free continental breakfast including:
A range of cereals
Toast and spreads
Tea and coffee
A simple way to start your day and connect with others.
🍞 Free Bread
Fresh day-old bread generously donated by George Town Subway is available daily from 8:30am while stocks last.
Drop in and grab a loaf for yourself or your family.
🥕 Wednesday Vegetable Bags
Fresh fruit and vegetable bags are available each week through our partnership with Loaves and Fishes.
How it works:
Call on Monday to place your name on the list
Limited to 25 places each week
Collection Wednesday between 11:30am and 12:00pm
Contents vary depending on availability.
🥫 Community Pantry
Our Community Pantry is located outside the Neighbourhood House and is accessible after hours.
The pantry is stocked with excess food donations and is available free of charge for anyone who may need a little extra support.
🍲 Heat and Eat Meals
Available daily from 10:30am while stocks last.
One meal per person per day

🌭 Community Sausage Sizzle
Every Friday at 12:00pm
Join us for a free sausage sizzle and a chat.

🛒 Food Co-op
Affordable Food for Everyone
Our Food Co-op offers community members access to quality food at low prices.
The Co-op is designed to help stretch household budgets while providing access to everyday grocery items.

🏷️ Monthly $2 Shop
Held monthly, our $2 Shop provides access to food and household essentials at heavily reduced prices.
Most items are $2 or less
Usually held on the third Monday of each month
Purchase limits may apply to ensure fairness for all community members
🧴 Cheap Canteen
Our reception canteen stocks a range of low-cost items including:
Snacks
Toiletries
Everyday essentials
Stock varies depending on availability.
